Andrew Smereczynski

(born 1943, died. March 22, 2007 in Warsaw) - teleelektryk engineer technologist, a pioneer in the Po lish Internet, which Poland joined in 1990 the first internationa l computer network [1]. He served as national coordinator EARN ne twork, whose Polish name was PLEARN node. Professionally for many years was associated with the University of Warsaw, he worked in the Interdisciplinary Center for Mathematical and Computational Modeling. In 1992, for his involvement in the development of networks in Poland and neighboring countries has received the prestigious Pioneer of the Electronic Frontier, established by the Electronic Frontier Foundation.
